Earlier this year my wife Serena had success in getting to the final 20 of this years’ Master Chef competition on the BBC.

Serena found the competition great fun, and I benefitted from tasting all her new ideas. Being a farmer’s daughter she is a good cook anyway, but with participation in Master Chef the quality of my evening meals is now on a different level.

Following on from Master Chef Serena and a close friend, who is a qualified cordon bleu chef, have started to use the Oakwrights’ Show House for cookery demonstrations. These evenings have been very successful, with great compliments about the cookery and also about the show home.

The Oakwrights’ Show Home looks out over Serena’s farm in the rolling Herefordshire country side, so if lamb is on the menu it has not travelled too far to be on the table.
