The Show is Over

The National HB&R show at the NEC was a great success. Following all the hard work that the team put into creating The Low Energy House by Oakwrights, we were really pleased to see just how well it was received. From Thursday morning through to Sunday afternoon I hardly found time to draw breath. As soon as I had finished talking to one interested person another question would be fired at me. We started each day with a full cooked breakfast and did not then stop all day.

Many members of the Oakwrights team have been involved in creating The Low Energy House and we also took a large team to man the stand. It was good for all the designers who had been working on creating the house to actually go to the show and be able to talk to people about the house.

Oakwrights are probably best known for very large complex bespoke houses so it was good to see how popular the launch of The Woodhouse range of modular designs was.

The Low Energy house, which is the Dinedor, and the baby of the six-house family, still showed a comfortable living space for family living. The small sun room with its treble glazing proved to be very popular, and Simon and Elliot who carry out all of our face glazing had a very busy weekend describing all the nuances of their trade and skill.

The sun room was sold and has gone to Leicestershire, the porch to Leeds, the log store went to Rochdale and finally the Dinedor show frame has gone to Brixham in Devon, and its new home will be a point over looking the sea. This will be the first house of the Woodhouse range to be built on site.

We handed out over two thousand of our new Try before You Buy brochures and since the show we have been taking many new bookings to stay at The Woodhouse.

Finally I need to say a big thank you to all of the Oakwrights team who helped with the show and whose hard work and long hours brought our stand to fruition and success.
