The single most critical stage in the creation of a new home is the design. Any new house must comply with planning requirements, sit well within its plot, and most importantly, conform to the needs and wants of the clients. Oakwrights have a professional and dedicated team of experienced and creative designers who are able to take a clients brief through to detailed planning permission, without which no new house can be built. You may already be in the lucky position of having detailed planning drawings already. If that is the case we will work with your designs to turn them into a workable frame.

Alternatively we can take you through the whole design process, interpreting your initial outline thoughts and designs and turning them into workable structures. All our planning drawings are hand drawn and detailed to reflect the quality of the finished product and are executed by experienced designers who understand both architectural principles and framing. In close consultation with the clients they will produce full floor and elevation plans to be presented for submission to the planning authorities.

	If required our architectural services department can supply full building regulation drawings presented by architects who fully understand the link between the oak frame and conventional build. At the heart of the house will be the beautifully impressive structural oak frame. Oakwrights frame designers use the most sophisticated ‘state of the art’ software available providing our clients with both 2 dimensional frame drawings and a unique virtual reality 3D fly through of their frame. In the majority of projects (although not all) the frame designer will become the ‘steward’ of the project. His in-depth knowledge of the frame is valuable in both the fabrication and the erection processes and he may well help guide its progress through the workshop and go on site with the frame to assist in its erection.
