Truly a case of the triumph of perseverance over obstacles saw the successful building of this Barn Style family home. Gordon & Lucy had to fight to build on this brown field site (former builders’ yard) eventually winning the planners over. Then after a legal dispute over ownership of access they discovered they were to have twins!
Consisting of 262 individual pieces of oak and composing 23 individual frames all pegged together, the frame for this impressive barn style home was erected on site in just four days.
Designed for the needs of a young growing family (4 children), the weatherboard exterior hides a surprisingly open plan interior downstairs whilst the five bedrooms upstairs comfortably house the large family. The balcony to the master bedrooms is a particular favourite and ensures maximum enjoyment of the surrounding views in this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
