Influenced by time spent in America, Frank & Jenny Burbridge decided on a New England colonial style for their location in Perthshire. Using a local architect to create the finished design they then looked to OAKWRIGHTS to provide the structural frame.
With the frame constructed of locally sourced Douglas Fir (erected in just three and a half days) this classic New England ‘Post & Beam’ style house is built on a sloping site and incorporates a basement and terraced walkway allowing the owners to fully benefit from the surrounding views.
The whole frame is encapsulated with SIP’s (Structurally Insulated Panels) and finished with local slate to the roof and attractive and durable red cedar to the walls. With three bedrooms, an integral garage & workshop and studio above this flexible design is suitable for a multitude of requirements whilst retaining the intimacy of a family home.
