VISIT AN OAKWRIGHTS FRAME AND WIN A PICASSO!
The Guardian recently commissioned exciting British artists, including Anthony Gormley and Vivienne Westwood to create works of art inspired by the 10:10 cause.
10:10 is the campaign to get individuals, companies and institutions to reduce their carbon footprints by 10% during 2010. These pieces have been donated to 10:10 to help raise much needed funds.
Additional works, including four Picasso linoleum cuts, have been donated to the collection. Rather than auction these artworks, which would only be of interest to a small group of wealthy art collectors, they’ve decided to raise funds through a game of chance – a good old tombola! So if you are at Hay Festival of Literature, why not pop along to our Eco pavilion and buy a ticket. There are currently 25 artworks with a total estimated value in the region of £50,000.
Each ticket would have a 1 in 200 chance of winning a piece of art like a Picasso or a Gormley! So come and have a go at The Hay Festival, which opens today until 6th June.
