Webbs Meadow: A ‘Custom Build’ Perspective
Many of our Clients are self-builders, but the ‘Custom Build’ route is increasing in popularity. This means the buyer has the opportunity to design a bespoke home on a site that has been divided into serviced plots by an enabling developer.
Our newly qualified Architect
I started my studies back in 2006 at the University of Bath; where I completed a BSc in Architecture - known as a ‘Part 1’. Having this week received the news that I am now officially an ‘Architect’, I look forward to continuing to develop my skills whilst being a part of delivering beautiful oak-framed architecture at Oakwrights!
Multiple build needn’t multiply the challenges
In recent years, we have worked on an increasing number of multiple build sites. Clients with plots large enough to house several properties submit Planning applications for multiple dwellings, using our In-House Architectural design team’s services. There are several options open to them as to how to proceed once approval is gained. The plots can be sold already serviced for Custom Builders; one or more plot is often kept for the clients themselves and their families, or the whole development can be built and sold as finished homes. Our clients in Lincolnshire secured land from their local Golf Club and wanted to put in a Planning application for five luxury houses overlooking the pretty Golf Course.
