Final Open Day of the Year
The weather was bitterly cold and I was surprised by just how busy the show was in such bad weather. Obviously the self build community is a hardy bunch and not going to be put off by sub zero temperatures.
My team was David from estimating to discuss costs, Anthony who looks after the South West area and Mike to look at design along with myself.
We had a busy two days making new contacts and also meeting up with customers who we have built for already.
To enhance the show experience we always try and follow on with an open day within two or three weeks of the show. As our final open day of the year we are travelling down to Cornwall by kind permission of Andrew and Kate Jackson.
We built a new farm house for Andrew and while the design process was taking place he would visit us in Hereford while on meat deliveries from his farm. The house is a post and beam oak frame with external rendered façade to the front and a weather boarded barn section to the rear. With three bedrooms on the first floor and an additional bedroom on the ground floor this is an extremely spacious four bedroom house at 2,680 square feet. The vaulted barn room is fully glazed to two sides giving views over Andrew’s farm land.
We have a full booking of hardy souls who are venturing out to meet with us. I will be leaving Hereford at 4.45 am to see if I can break out of snowy Hereford and onto the M5 as the weather looks to be improving as you head south.
I look forwards to meeting with our visitors and having a pre Christmas drink.
