The Stable Restaurant, Plymouth – Grand Opening
The Stable Restaurant overlooking the harbour
The most recent (and fastest ever through production) commercial project to be completed by Oakwrights was for the ‘up and coming’ restaurant chain - The Stable.
Tim Crump, Oakwrights Managing Director at The Stable Grand Opening
The Stable restaurants are 51% owned by Fullers Brewery, which for us brings a second project with the company - having completed Cams Mill in Fareham, Hampshire in 2014. Focussed on Pizzas & Cider the chain originated in Dorset and the Plymouth restaurant is their eighth - with a further six in the pipeline for this year alone.

Once Martin at Arc Design had finalised the overall design of the restaurant, the oak frame was needed ASAP. We accepted the challenge - designing, manufacturing and erecting the frame in six weeks; a record considering the oak took three weeks to arrive from France! The enclosure of The Stable Restaurant oak frame was a bespoke design, unique to the structure and using Oakwrights WrightWall Light encapsulation system.
Tim Crump with Nikki Cooper, The Stable Founder
The official opening was a grand affair with Richard & Nikki Cooper, founders of The Stable, playing the perfect hosts! The views from the restaurant as it overlooks the port are to die for and the expansive Olsen Sliding doors create the perfect picture frame through which to enjoy them. There were over 80 varieties of Cider available (with a representative of our home County of Herefordshire (of course) in the form of Symonds Cider) along with a set of pizza toppings unique to the Plymouth restaurant.

A great night and a great restaurant with great people, we look forward to the Hereford opening very soon!
