Orangeries

What is an orangery extension?

An orangery is characterised by its roof style - they’re usually housed by a glazed lantern incorporated within a flat or mansard roof space. A glazed roof is just one of many elements to open up your home and bathe it in natural light.

Orangeries were originally designed for orange trees, stretching as far back as the 17th century. They were a sign of prosperity and were revered by all. Now, these extraordinary structures can be part of your home, providing extra space in a sophisticated way and admired by your family, friends and anyone who comes to visit.

Spoilt for choice: the difference between an orangery and conservatory

At first glance, orangeries and conservatories may seem quite similar, but there are differences between the two. The latter are predominantly glass structures designed to bring the outdoors in. Orangeries traditionally have less glass, with the lantern roof allowing enough light to flood the room and help the eponymous fruit trees grow.

However, there are no rules to abide by when designing your new space. Your extension is tailored to your requirements. So whether you’d like a fully glazed space with the opulence of an orangery, or want to let nature seep into your home through the windows of a conservatory, we’ll help craft an oak-framed structure that resonates with your personality.

We’re here to help you bring your vision to life

A luxury orangery

Increase your home’s footprint & reduce your impact

Your orangery extension provides you with extra space for socialising, showing off your favourite possessions or sipping wine around your dining table. But the value goes beyond that.

Our oak frames pay homage to nature, while meeting the high standards of today and tomorrow. With sustainability underpinning everything we do, you can retreat into your luxurious new space knowing that it has left as little impact on the environment as possible.

Oak timber and orangeries are a perfect match. Both have their own stories and history that stretch years and years. Oak has a rich, warm appearance and lasts the test of time - the perfect material to incorporate into your extension.
